taking eggs away

If you have a pigeon that breeds good racers and you take the eggs and put under

another pigeon, how long would it be before that  one you pull the eggs from lay

10 to 12 days, before they start making soft food. Wouldnt do it to often though its not great for the hen

Thanks jimmy white, the reason I asked this because I work 14 and 14 offshore and I wont them to hatch when I am home so I can band them.
