The White Rapido Man Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 looking for suggestions on moving a loft without having to dismantle it!! I have a 10 x 5 loft (in the picture) that I want to move to the bottom of my garden......it was an bugger to take down and re-errect when I got it.. Its well made, and I'm thinking of getting about 10 of me buddies around and threading some heavy duty straps underneath with some schaffolding bars threaded through and then lifting it. What do you recon?......its 19 mil tounge and groove and very heavy....anyone done this??? or have any other suggestion???...cant roll it as the ground is uneven... what ever shall I do????
Guest Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 ;D i have done this my race loft ;D is a 6' x 6' garden shed old as the hills , and all nailed together . i removed nest boxes , door , and perches etc last winter moved it only 10 foot forward but up onto breeze block stansion 2 foot off the ground took 8 of us with scaffold poles ( and a lot of bacon butties) about 3 hours of jiggling about to shift it . birds were only out of loft 6 hours maximum . raced to it ok this year ;D ;D andy
Peckedhen Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I moved my loft by rolling it on several broom handles. The ground was very uneven but, once we got it moving it was fairly easy.

jimbobboy Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I had a 10x20 shed delivered by one guy on a roll-back. Once off the truck he used 5-pcs. of 6" dia. sch40 PVC pipe and smeared them down with full strenght dishwaeh soap!! Worked like a charm When one pice comes out take it to the other end and keep it rolling I think it will work for you!! Good LUCK Oldie but newbeebie jimbobboy
