Ronnie Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 If i keep my widowood hens(not racers just for the cocks) in with the youngbirds will they pair up to the young cock's? My problem is space ive got two lofts one for the youngbirds and one for the widowood cocks ,Just wondering if there is a way i can get away with not building another shed .
Guest shadow Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 yes you need to make a compartment or aviary for the hens away from the cocks
timbarra Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Race pigeons naturally, but dont pair up till march and then you will find your racers will hold their moult. if your not equiped to race widowhood give it a miss, widowhood is not a new method... think forward matey.. regards spencer
ACE LOFTS Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 u can buy a large rabbit hutch and put them in it but depending on how many hens got to put in there and size of rabbit hutch, i wouldnt over crowd the hutch

Guest j.bamling Posted October 3, 2007 Report Posted October 3, 2007 you could make an aviary at the back of your widowhood cocks loft put hen boxes single cells - this is so you can feed them heavier corn make at trap door into your cocks loft so when it is lifted they can fly in themselves it makes it easy on basketing night !!!
