yes, the american rescue sevice used pigeons to locate orange liferafts at sea.

 

saw a programme about it a long time ago-did anyone else see it?

good programme using them to see liferafts even through fog.i also believe birds can see ultra violet light which would make it they could see colour, put a peanut in a clear glass jar and a tic bean in another they go for the peanut everytime.
