pault Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 hi m8 i pair up about the middle of jan that is early enough for the darkness and i put my young birds on the dark when the hour goes about the 31 march not before and take them of about the 1 june they will have moulted out by then and be ready for racing and you will be able to get them though the moult at the end of the year i find it works well that way because i work and need to get them out for a fly after work i dont take them of till 12.30 my dinner time and put them back on the dark just before it gets dark hope this helps pault
chasey123 Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 thnx for that i was told 2 put them straight on it
Guest shadow Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 John halstead does a good cd on darkness will tell you all you want to know
steve d Posted December 11, 2007 Report Posted December 11, 2007 i am hearing more and more about fanciers who's birds have been on the dark then put their lights on till ten oclock from late August till the end of the yb season i think it is to stop them pushing flights, is this the norm now for darkness youngsters.
pigeonscout Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 For young birds on the dark read this. Both Richard Hogg and Mark Foulis are at the very top of the sport and if you where to win in your life time what theses guys have won in a single year with young birds you would be a very happy man. http://www.pigeonportal.com/spps/ahpg.cfm?spgid=17
