Pairs on light

Once you put your pairs together and on light how long should it take them to lay?

I turned my lights up a few weeks before i paired and once paired it did'nt take them much more than 10 days to lay. Birds are just laying the second round eggs now

dont put ur race birds on the light only stock birds as it will put ur race team into a form and could affect how your performance before the season has even started

depends what condition their in ,,,if in top breeding condition 10 days [would only do this with stock birds]

OK thanks for the replies. I put my breeders on 17 hours a day on Christmas day. No eggs yet. Soon i hope.

i think,,soon you will :)   sometimes at this time of the year the hens are sometimes a bit plumpish ,and just take that wee bit longer,,good luck [hope you see eggs tomorrow ]

also a bit cold, eggs can get chilled very easy, nature tells them this.

all 9 pair of stock birds laid out 9 days here   i put this down to the feeding and condition of the birds over the moulting period. Ill take a guess and say your birds are overweight if your weighting 17 days to lay
