do i need a club

i ask this as the club is was going to join is messing me around

 

she keeps saying she is sending me the club info but never dose

 

and im getting sick of waiting it seems to me im being fobbed off

 

and i think i know the reason but im not posting what i think it is

 

so do i need a club to race

Not if you not having a loft you dont  ;D

 

i would worry about getting birds in your garden first no point paying for a club you cant use

Ok then you dont neccesarily need a local club as you could join the national and just compete in them as they are the main aim of most pigeon men however if you join a local club makes it much easier to find your feet and prepare your birds for the nationals.

 

Overall i would get in the club even if it to just send the birds as trainers

getting in the club is the prob she has been sending me this info for over a week

 

she said she would ring me to let me know when there meeting is it was this month

 

but as yet no info and i cant get her on the phone im getting the feeling im not wanted

Think the problem is you have not got a clue over anything to do with pigeons, first you want everything , then nothing , your last thread which was the mother of all bad luck saying you could not keep pigeons, think you need to go back to the drawing board and think things through and then tell us what you are doing and then maybe folk on here will help you because at this time nobody knows what you want or are doing and that includes yourself

well for one i never said i could not keep pigeons i said my land lord told me to ask him again in 3 months

 

but i have been chatting to him sins then and i am getting him warmed up to the idea

 

and as for the comment i dont know what i want sorry but i do

yes you came to learn,  but you were also offered everything you would need to start up with and house pigeons but you turned everything down, :-/ :-/

hi,i'm new to the site.but the thing about pigeons is patience and the thing about clubs is more patience.out of season things 'grind slow'and people who run clubs are often doing more jobs than one.hopefully your chance will come and when it does be helpful[but not pushy],listen alot but say less,don't take sides and with alittle luck you'll be surprised how fanciers will react.

I agree   very well said spin cycle. It seems like the same hand full of people do ALL the work year after year in pigeon clubs. This is a busy time of year for family and clubs. For family the holidays and it is for some the pigeon breeding season and for clubs there is new year paper work and printing diplomas and ordering trophies and awards banquets etc.

I say patience is a vitue and good things come to those who wait.

And I think any club would welcome new members pigeons or not. Seems to me that a member without pigeons could help out a lot while learning.

thanx.     you may be right dk about this club but ,personally, i wouldn't give up  just yet.it's now 10wks to first race and soon it'll be clock testing and crates before that there'll be agm and before that general meetings.these will be pretty soon.perhaps you could write a nice letter explaining that you are very keen and would like to be considered for membership at the next 'appropriate opportunity'.close by thanking her very muchand asking her to phone you on reciept of your letter. if after 7 clear days you havn't heard you can phone to ask if she has recieved the letter and check your application is in order.      this is what i would do i don't know if it's right.if not hopefully sombody will correct me
