retired Posted November 1, 2007 Author Report Posted November 1, 2007 good pigeons will win inspite of the fancier, the is loads of good systems and flyers which now what they are doing, good pigeons win races no matter what distance, good pigeons will also win inspite of the fancier, good pigeons is what you need and the is more bad ones than good ones. I think personally this is only true in a small percentage of races, when im not on form whether it be through work or anything else my pigeons are also off form and will only sneak in with the odd good result.
retired Posted November 1, 2007 Author Report Posted November 1, 2007 On another note, when i started this thread i wanted opinions and i thank everyone for the response whether on the main thread or by pm. I have had a chap in contact with myself offering wim moens and also vindervogels at a very fair price however i know very little on the families in question so if anyone knows anything i would appreciate it

nigel holloway Posted November 1, 2007 Report Posted November 1, 2007 personally i would go for the brasspennings, brilliant sprinters,a friend of mine races them on NATURAL and he can win no problem, but its all down to feeding and good pigeons,FAT pigeons will never win races, find a system that suits you and stick to it.dont overfeed.
Hogni Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I know i have the pigeons for after around 250 miles and would not change them until i have took them as far as i feel i can. Out and out sprint is something new to me i have never been obsessed with a 70 mile race but the times are changing and my fed race programme looks like it is going to be suiting one or two sprint specialists so i must move with the times and look at introducing pigeons with that sole purpose. I do prefer longer races but as i said change with the times is required My family of birds are pure sprinters and fast ones they sure are, i´ve seen them cut away from the group as soon as the release and they never seem to need to circle around the release point but head straight for home, this kind of behavior was unknown here in Iceland before the arrival of these birds in 1998. Among thier achivements are National Ace in 2001, a cock born mid summer 2000 did not race in the youngbird races and not in first 3 old bird races 2001 but still managed to become the Ace pigeon. A brother of him won a 330 km. race 65 mins ahead of the next bird. A daughter of the National ace won 2 youngbird races in 2006 from 100 km. 11 mins ahead and from 160 km. 21 mins ahead. Here are pictures of the National Ace first and then his father BELG-98-3251922 which is the father of my family, he was brought in from Robert Venus in Belgium.
Guest shadow Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 my most consistent sprinters were SVR
