rasbull Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Does anyone else use the Eastcoast software program for their loft records? I am experiencing a problem with the notes of certain pigeons somehow getting mixed up with other pigeon notes! There must be a fault in the program somewhere but would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and if so has it been corrected somehow? Twice this has happened to me now, the first time I put it down to myself making an error, but not this time.

rasbull Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 Its hard to spot unless you actually look for it! But on going to type something in the long notes on the profile, noticed the notes belonged to a different pigeon! Its frustrating because the actual birds own notes are then deleted!

rasbull Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 This is the reply I have just received. Fair play, very quick and helpful. Occasionally, a very few users get a corrupted BLOB file. A BLOB file is a Binary Large Object – a file that holds the free-form notes you write for your birds. Why this corruption occurs is unknown to us. It could be because you have shut your computer down inadvertently without first closing the program, or a brown-out in the electricity supply. Whatever causes it, your data becomes corrupted and this can result in symptoms you describe. We have almost 2000 customers using LMS and, up to now, have had fewer than 6 complain of such corruption. We built a repair system into LMS to try to repair such problems. You can access it via Maintenance, Repair Records. The default radio button (The Bird Details) is the one you need. If this does not fix the problem, get back to me and I will give you instructions to get your data to me via email and I will try to repair your records
