pault Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 hi all i have just got a yearling back that went miss last july from a training toss as a y/bird ring number GB2007R26868 BLUE COCK it is in fantastic condition and has a blue plastic ring on it what gets me is someone has been breeding of it and could not be bothered to report it i need some advice what would you do with the bird it is very well breed from 2 top racers.will i be wasting my time keeping it till next year and race it or put it to stock as i say it is well breed if the person that had the bird is looking at this post you should be ashamed of your self thanks for reading
pjc Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 young birds make mistakes and deserve a chance. I had one 3yrs ago, lost it training and was reported a few weeks later, when i fetched it it had apparently been floating around the area but was in cracking condition. Again it was well bred so I decided to keep it in and try it at stock, he bred a winner in his first nest and has gone on to breed others for us and others. If he doesn't breed you anything then he is still young enough to put on the road and race him. PHil
ChrisMaidment08 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 i personly would keep itpurely because it obviously has abrain
Simeon Turner Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I personally would train the bird us and get it back on the road - see what it is made of...................... If he is good enough he will come through, he can't be that bad if he has remembered where he lives after all that time......
pault Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 train it up and get it to comeback races we dont have comeback races only over the water now
Ronnie Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Train it up and everywhere you go take it with you and throw it up.If its there next year race it.
jimmy white Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 many years ago, lost as a yb in a 62 mile race , came back the next april, black as the ace of spades [could barely make out it had white flights ]clean, in a week , took to a box ,jumped right in to the racing ,,,,one of the best birds i had .
jimmy white Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 i may put it with y/b and train it yes,,ideal, and agree with ronnie,
