Never heard of milk being used on a birds eye before, first thoughts that milk is full of bacteria, maybe make matters worse?

Using cold tea seems better, tannin is a natural antiseptic, and soothes, never had to bathe an eye more than a couple of times though, and it usually responded well and the birds own tears etc did the rest.
