Guest slugmonkey Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Lennut it wouldnt matter where I lived and no matter what I did I still wouldnt get any props in our club lol thats what makes it so much sweeter, I wasnt implying you were knocking me I am doing something diffrent than the others though I am not sure what ? 3 records in 5 years from 2 diffrent locations thats a little better than having good position I think P.S. I win quite often out of turn and have a real bad habit of sneaking one in on a big drop I am 12 miles long on the short guy and 24 miles short on the long guy and there are 4 flyers on the same road as me so the east west is pretty fair with them
Merlin Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 Again well done Slug,it appears your a good tradesman with class tools for the job.a formidable combination.
Guest Paulo Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 This bird was bred from A Darrell Bybee cock ( which was bred from our old original Vandevelle birds ) and a Vandevelle hen that was bred from Ben Fichter stock This is kinda unusual for this bird as they are usally more of a plugger type of bird and do well in headwind races the other 3 that came on the drop are all Jannssen birds Vandeveldes do well for the distance were a popular cross in the north east with the busschaerts don't see them much now

"Nice isn't" When you walk out of the club at the end of the day ;D ;D ;D & say to yourself with a big smile ;) "I've stuck it up them, again". PS In my area etc ;) , one may live anywhere within a 2000 + square mile area & compete against one another on any given saturday. Enjoy.

Guest slugmonkey Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 We are having a REAL BAD race we had headwinds with gusts of 40 + mph the last 100 miles of a 500 mile race most having a few home off of one race I got 11 on all 3 races and may have had the only yearling on the day and am the only 1 that had birds on all 3 races this should sew up everything ( loft of the year, average speed, best bird ) I need 3 more races in 5 weeks to break the most wins in a season ( 10 we set it and tied it 1 other time with it being tied 1 other time by another flyer ) I am having a great year I have 20 in the clock now with the most I have heard of being 5 from another flyer
Guest slugmonkey Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Results In 8 diplomas I took 5 3 yearling day birds I had all 3 Only flier with birds on all 3 races 3 hours plus on average speed 7 of top 10 best birds won 2 of 3 races need 3 to break most wins records
carlsberg Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 excellent flying hope you get them 3 more wins to break the record with your results so far you deserve it
Guest slugmonkey Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 For those of you keeping score we flew a 600 last week I took 2nd 3rd and 4th and a whole bunch of other positions I had 4 day birds, the bird that broke this speed record was my 1st bird home and got 2nd on the race all I need is 1 500 mile race to get a marathon triple crown award for this bird we have a 500 next week I think I am going to have several VERY WELL placed birds in the NATIONAL standings when everything is said and done I know I have at least 3 birds that will qualify for marathon triple crown awards
carlsberg Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 well done slugmonkey hope you pull it off you defo deserve it with your results so far
