Lennut Tar Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I've just come off (I will not mention it's name) a well known site in South Africa, where they show you pictures etc of the 10 best pigeons in the most recent race. "Boy oh Boy" for anyone that has not seen them, I suggest now !!!!!!!!! you go have a good look. You might just learn something, unfortunately :'( :'( :'(. One could say (Not me) ;) They are a disgrace, in relation to there general feather & the way many of them, have been eaten way etc at the end of there feathers & remember also !!!!!!!!! these are the best ones. So what would the worst of them look like. Enjoy.
Guest Vic Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Lennut! As you may know, I have always held these playboys in disrespect. These are the guys who are killing the game. They talk as if money doesn't bother them. One guy up our way, had over 20 birds in it, not too long back. Who do they think their kidding? Customs and Excise perhaps! What a load of sh** they are.
Lennut Tar Posted June 18, 2008 Author Report Posted June 18, 2008 could of posted a link I'm not that silly ;D ;D ;D it's easy enough to find :P . Enjoy.

pjc Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 if the 1st bird was in our loft it would be stopped due to the moult but as its there it will have to be raced while on last ccouple of flights! Phil

OLDYELLOW Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 yup they are rough as out looks like someones been ringing ferals
pjc Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 They cram as many in as they can for money and its survival of the fitest, no regards for the birds welfare. They are sent on trainers and race, fit or not, these lofts need more regulation! Phil
Guest Vic Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 could of posted a link "Old Yellow" you sound like a "young green'n" to me. lol.

Phil Phil !!!!!!!! we all know etc, that many birds that are raced in young birds as such, are not in the feather that old birds have when racing. but you explain to me now, why with the management of these birds in discussion etc, they have there wing feathers eating away to such a degree, as it appears to me. I'm afraid if it was me !!!!!!!!! I would be looking for something a hell of of a lot better in management for my dollar, I'm afraid. Enjoy.
Guest slugmonkey Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Look at the world ace challenge the last 2 years this race has had TOP NOTCH management also the birds at the Texas Gusher race has been excellent as well I have visited the birds at both of these races and they are great
pjc Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Lennut, i suspect the flights are damaged due to the way they are housed. They appear to spend a lot of time in flights and crowded conditions. The problem with to many birds in aviarys is that they can damage flights on the wire. I would asume also that these birds are not given as much attention as our own would be so are probably flighty when anybody is arround where as our own birds would just stay sat on the perches! Phil

Phil Yes !!!!!!!! your more than likely right Phil, but for such a prestige ?????????????????????????????????????? :'( :'( :'( pigeon race etc, to even contemplate such a situation to occur is a total disgrace in my view, in relation to there management & I will bet you a dollar (I'm a big gambler) ;) that if those birds turned up at your local centre/club to be placed in a race, they would be sent home & there would be very few members here, that would have their birds in such disgraceful condition, in relation to there wing feathers. Enjoy.
pjc Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I think you've only got to look at the number of birds entered in the race compared to the number sent to the final race to answer many questions! Phil

Phil ;D ;D ;D "PMSL" I know !!!!!!! But for years now, I've been mystified !!!!!!!!!!! why they had such bad losses etc "Shocking" ;) . But I'm all clued-up now :) (I'm always a bit slow at catching on) fortunately, after seeing all those photos of the best ones etc. The best thing they could do is, take them of there website & let the illusion continue, that they are smart & intelligent :'( :'( :'( & have the best interest of the pigeons as the number one priority. Enjoy.
