Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 i have them racing pigeons in one end and the others in another side
PATTY BHOY Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 as long as they are fit and healthy ,you can only try what you think is best.GOOD LUCK.
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 but how would u no if they are fit and healthy.
PATTY BHOY Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 FEATHER CONDITION,EYE SPARKLE AND PLENTY DANCING OF THE COCKS.
Guest spin cycle Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 its something you learn....you can read/watch/listen all you like but eventually you have to put something in the basket and try. both you and your pigeons are learning so take it 1 step at a time. get them excersizing nicely around home ..then some road training...then some races from shorter racepoints. get an idea of how the pigeons handle before/after racing. most importantly ...have fun
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 flying clapping wings on of roof or loft full beans
Guest pigeonboyno1 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Well i sometimes i put the hens and cocks together and take them away from them when i am basketing them on a friday is that a good idea or are they just tiring themselves out
Guest Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 watch them flying around the loft if they shoot about the sky not wanting to come in they are getting there you have then got to train them i would give them 10 to 15 at around 25 miles minimum if you havent raced them before a couple of shorter races first then 150 miles i take it this is oldbirds hope this is what your looking for dave
Guest spin cycle Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Well i sometimes i put the hens and cocks together and take them away from them when i am basketing them on a friday is that a good idea or are they just tiring themselves out does it work ? thats the answer. its easy IMO for novices to get 'hung up ' on motivation and neglect health and fitness. i found that fit pigeons come home and often fast enough to win...concentrate on fitness.
