Guest Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 i have a dark cheq pied cock paired to a dark cheq hen and the parents of both were a cheq w/f and a dark cheq. how have they produced a pencil blue pied and a blue w/f????? they paired up late has she been a naughty girl??? Both birds carry the bar factor, bar is recessive to chequer so could easily pass through a number of generations, not revealing it's presence until two birds carrying the recessive bar gene are bred together. Even if the hen has been "a naughty girl" she would still carry the bar gene in order to produce any barred offspring.
Guest monkeynuts71 Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 thanks. its just that the birds are onloan and I dont want to give them back yet if hes not the sire. he is a cracking looking pigeon
