i have a dark cheq pied cock  paired to a dark cheq hen and the parents of both were a cheq w/f and a dark cheq. how have they produced a pencil blue pied and a blue w/f????? they paired up late has she been a naughty girl??? ;)

on the other hand i have 2 checkered bronze 1red checker 1 checkered gay pied and 2 red check gay pieds from a dark checked pied hen just a touch of white on her and the cock is red checker withe black splashes on him

Both birds carry the bar factor, bar is recessive to chequer so could easily pass through a number of generations, not revealing it's presence until two birds carrying the recessive bar gene are bred together.   Even if the hen has been "a naughty girl" she would still carry the bar gene in order to produce any barred offspring.

thanks. its just that the birds are onloan and I dont want to give them back yet if hes not the sire. he is a cracking looking pigeon
