Hogni Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 I have one bird which i suspect to have salmonella (swollen knee joint) now i have furaltadone from Dac and on the pack it says to give 1 teaspoon per gallon of water for 5 days, since this is only one bird my question is, would it be adviceble to mix this and store in a bottle instead of mixing each day?
Guest j.bamling Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 I would mix it up fresh every day sometimes the antibiotic loses its activity when left in water Its much better fresh !!!

Hogni !!!!!!! in my view ?????? I think you may have a bit of work in front of you I'm afraid :'( :'( :'(. If as you say you may have Salmonella/Paratyhoid,etc, this is what I would do. 1 Seperate the pigeon, well away from the rest of them. 2 Medicate the lot of them, seeing as you have the medication there etc (Better to be safe than sorry), in your situation now. 3 Clean your lofts from top to bottom with a good disinfectent (Hard work) Bleach, Vinegar or any other product you can lay your hands on & then place a heater in there to dry the lofts out. 4 Prey !!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D if none of the above work. Enjoy.
