Furaltadone

I have one bird which i suspect to have salmonella (swollen knee joint) now i have furaltadone from Dac and on the pack it says to give 1 teaspoon per gallon of water for 5 days, since this is only one bird my question is, would it be adviceble to mix this and store in a bottle instead of mixing each day?

I would mix it up fresh every day sometimes the antibiotic loses its activity when left in water

go with what it says on the label!!!, it loses its effectiveness after 12/24 hrs in the water[like all waterbased medicines/vits]

Hogni !!!!!!! in my view ?????? I think you may have a bit of work in front of you I'm afraid  :'( :'( :'(. If as you say you may have Salmonella/Paratyhoid,etc, this is what I would do.

1 Seperate the pigeon, well away from the rest of them.

2 Medicate the lot of them, seeing as you have the medication there etc (Better to be safe than sorry), in your situation now.

3 Clean your lofts from top to bottom with a good disinfectent (Hard work) Bleach, Vinegar or any other product you can lay your hands on & then place a heater in there to dry the lofts out.

4 Prey !!!!!!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D if none of the above work.
