Guest Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 Does anyone else have this problem: - When my YBs come in after a flight and they are fed, the first dropping always seem to be like water, then when I check an hour later they are still a bit loose but not water, then in the morning they are generally very solid with down on.
Guest Doostalker Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Shelbin, do you mean after a race? If it is, then it is normal for thedroppings to change consistency after rigorous exercise. It is caused by the urine content being more visible in the droppings, and the bowel content decreasing, This usually returns to normal after feeding. Hope this helps.
johnny11 Posted August 22, 2005 Report Posted August 22, 2005 Sbelbin This is probably due to their stomachs being empty. the water is probably excess urea caused by exercise and when you feed them their quota they have some food in their systems so the full droppings are a result of this. I do not think you have anything to worry about.
preston powerblast Posted August 26, 2005 Report Posted August 26, 2005 Whenever our birds get loose droppings we give them two tablespoons of cider vinegar to a bullet drinker this usually tightens them up. But you find that watery droppings are quite normal after training or racing and should tighten up after a feed.
