westy Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 YES IF THE EGGS ARE CHILLED THEY ARE NO GOOD< HAS ANYTHING DISTURBED THE BIRDS< I HAVE WEST OF ENGLANDS AND HAVE LOST A FEW YOUNGSTERS IN THE PAST< THE REASON WHITH THEM I FIND IF U DISTURB THEM IE HAVE A LOOK AT THE YOUNGSTERS THEY SEEM TO COME OFF THEM< VERY EASY< i also feel that 2 YOUNGSTERS (RACERS) WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR UR TUMBLERS TO REAR< EVEN ONE COULD BE A STRUGGLE< WITH TUMBLERS HAVING SMALL BEAKS ETC< ALTHOUGH IT CAN WORK BUT I WOULD ONLY TRY THEM WITH A SINGLE YOUNGSTER< HAVE U ANY RACERS< I HAVE ALOUD MY FANTAILS TO REAR A SINGLE BIRD WITH SUCCESS< BUT YOUNG RACERS MUSTY GET THE BEST DURING REARING. yes i have racers
westy Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 just put 1 crock under wests so i can slowly warm racer eggs up, hen jumped off first, then tucked it under her, would the cold kill chick inside with 3 days to go?
westy Posted January 28, 2006 Author Report Posted January 28, 2006 thanks all for your advice through pm and on here i will keep you updated on them thanks martin
jimmy white Posted January 28, 2006 Report Posted January 28, 2006 sorry to here about that westy, but you never know you might have saved them ,if youve got them back under the hen and shes sitting, i hope so, but sometimes these things happen, good luck anyway
Guest Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Due respect to other posts, but you'll find this late in the incubation stage that the eggs will hatch, Westy, probably around one day overdue. Think of it as chilling from the outside in, rather than from inside out. On a cold day your hands, face nose & ears and feet get cold 'first'. Long time after that happens before you lose your deep body heat and feel 'chilled'. GOOD LUCK.
snowy Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 just put 1 crock under wests so i can slowly warm racer eggs up, hen jumped off first, then tucked it under her, would the cold kill chick inside with 3 days to go? oh well, as i slowly warmed the eggs while she was on the crock, she rejected the crock eggs too, so no joy, better luck next time, thanks all for the advice,
jimmy white Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 SORRY TO HEAR THAT SNOWY, AT LEAST YOU TRIED
