velo99 Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 I ahve had a couple of chicks this season who were really slow in growing. One I culled the other day after realizing he would never even feather out. He was six weeks old and still too small to band. The other is a little older and not quite so slow but seems to have come to a standstill over the last few days. I felt of his crop and it was`nt full but not empty I know he gets fed.I watched em feed him last night. this morning I added anti biotic to the drinking water. I had an adult bird earlier this season seemed to go off a little and a round made them fit again. Any suggestions as to what it could be?
Guest shadow Posted September 16, 2006 Report Posted September 16, 2006 If it does not thrive at this time of the year ---- it will never be any good.
jimmy white Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 REALLY THINK YOU SHOULD LOOK IN TO THINGS CLOSER, AS THERES SOMETHING FAR WRONG MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY GRIT ,MINERALS, PICK STONES AND A GOOD PROTEIN MIX BUT REALLY THAT YB AT 6 WEEKS IS NOT GOING TO BE ANY GOOD, SORRY TO SAY ,BUT IF YOU DELVE IN TO IT DEEPER , YOULL SEE THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM , AND HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR BREED SOME NICE ONES
