RoosterBoy Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I have two adult birds, I brought them inside for breeding, and after a few weeks they had diarrhea ,its been going on for almost one month , I thought it would go away but it has not, I ordered some amoxicillin it will be here in a few days. The pigeons seem fine and are eating lots of food and grit , I just afraid the almost clear diarrhea is not normal. I put some apple vineger two table spoons per gallon . I just started doing this. Does any have any idea what I should do ? I have 18 other pigeon that are healthy , I am afraid to put these two sick ones back in with the rest until I can get them better Thanks Jason
Guest Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I'm not very sure of what you are trying to describe :-/. Are the birds passing solid droppings and large pools of clear water? Maybe posting a picture of the 'problem droppings' and the birds might help. You also mentioned bringing the birds inside? Inside what and from where? Does your git contain salt and are the birds also getting minerals? If you have any doubt about the health of these two birds, don't let them mix with your other birds.
Guest Hjaltland Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 I had something similar when i was given my first pair of racers. I had them locked in as prisoners and did they scooot!! i was panicking. It went on for weeks , they lost weight. After some weeks i took out the salty grit which i was giving them in copious suuply, and the diarrheoa mysteriously stopped! Now i'm not saying thats what your problem might be, its just my experience. Hope it clears up.
