Some birds show a slight tremor when they are unsettled, for example when near another more dominant pigeon. 'They shake with fear'.

I think a diseased bird would show more symptoms, for example poor balance - falling over, not eating, suspect droppings, etc.

I sent an email to Gordan Chalmer, there is your answer from Gordan Chalmer.

Hi Craig:  Nervous signs in a pigeon can be the result of a few things, so it's hard to say from a distance just what might be causing it.  I assume only one bird is affected - so far.  Paramyxovirus could do this, but I'd also expect more birds to be affected at the same time.  I imagine that he hasn't yet vaccinated.  Paratyphoid infection occasionally attacks the brain of affected birds.  Herpesvirus has been known to cause nervous signs in pigeons when it attacks the brain.  As well, some medications in overdose can cause nervous signs - including Flagyl and Emtryl. Injury to the brain could also cause nervous signs. So you see how hard it is to make a definite diagnosis.  I wish I could be more specific for you, but the foregoing are a few ideas.  Let me know what happens in the loft, especially if more birds become affected in the same way in the near future.  Very best wishes.  G.
