More common than you would think,it's only when you actually make the conscious effort to check every bird that you notice otherwise you just assume they have the correct number.Interestingly this can run in families,iI have 4 birds out of 50 with 11 flights,2 of which are by the same cock who also has 11 flights.

NORMALLY BIRDS WITH ELEVEN FLIGHTS ARE GOOD RACER IN MY EXPERIENCE THE LAST ONE I HAD WAS A BLUE COCK WHO WON THE LAST RACE MAIDSTONE/SALISBURY THREE TIMES FOR ME ,BUT NEVER BRED A THING WORTH MENTIONING  ;)

that won't be winning many shows then,or you going to pull some? ;D ;D ;D

sir colin,,,[my £5000 winner ;D], on odd occasions through an eleven flighted bird ,,and these birds often scored well , and funnily enough , they were 11 flighted on one wing only :-/

I dont know if you will remember Jimmy but SU94ML4737 blue/cheq cock. He was bred down from the Midlands Championship Club winner. I got him  from you when I was starting up the birds also had eleven flights in one wing. He was a very good racer. Maybe just coincidence. Who knows?

yes, remember that pigeon very well , that was a g son of clive 76[one in a million ] wooff bros and son ,new ollerton,,,,a pigeon related to 4737 won the louella car[ national ] for mr. mrs. philips of truro the same year as sir colin was 2cnd open nantes national  :)for me ,,,,co- incidence 11 flights on one side  :)

What do you mean the 11 flighted situation is just a theory Wiley?    Were mot saying every big winner has eleven flights, but a good percenteage of birds that have this characteristic have one prizes. This is fact not fiction. I'm not saying that we should all start breeding birds to have eleven flights. Thats just stupid. If you check your own team of birds you might find that one or 2 that have had this have done well in the races.Let me know what you think mate.

"the birds also had eleven flights in one wing. He was a very good racer. Maybe just coincidence" you also seemed very skeptical on the subject.Course it is a theory, i understand what your saying but not every big winner as you say has 11 flights, or the 11 flighted pigeons have won prizes.Over the years I have never found an 11 flighted pigeon that raced no different to birds that were 10 flighted, meaning raced no better or no worse. I understand everyone has there own beliefs, but to me the 11 flight situation is a theory and just my personal belief, till the day when I visit a lofts and continually see pigeons with 11 flights and lists of performances then i may start believing, but because i havent seen it in my time of handling these performance pigeon it in my eyes will still be classed as theory. But in no way or form am i trying to push my beliefs onto you, i respect what people wish to believe in  :)
