Guest Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 Was warned about this when I first started up. Don't know where in the wing moult it starts, but a latebred yearling will start throwing 2 flights at a time: 1 x 'normal flight' + 1 'nest flight'. The nest flight as I understand it is moulted only once. Had something similar last year when I had a yearling home after being out for 9 months, lost from previous year's 1st YB race. Thought Primaries 8, 9 & 10 on each wing were sun-bleached, until she dropped Nos 8 on each wing and I saw last years wing stamp on them - they were nest flights. She threw 8, 9 & 10 then started back at No1, moulting thro to No7, then stopped - complete.
