Frazer Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 Took my race team training yesterday all home,went in the loft this morning one of the yearlings i trained was on the floor stiffs a board can only think he had a heart attack this must be rare in young pigeons any ideas thanks frazer.

Guest vander mungo Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 could be anything if was mine think id get an autopsy just to rule anything else out these have to be done on a bird just about to die.had a problem 15,years ago stock birds dying unexplained sent sick bird to MAFF. vet problem was wait for this mouthful STREPTI,COUCUS .BOVIS common in sparrows and starlings whitch pick about farmyards had a avairy with wire mesh roof then and slabbed floor never had one since.prescribed auramicin done the trick

north wales novice- Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 had a yb of a friend die on me after a loft fly , had been ok at 3 races prior to that , i put it down to heart attack . all others were fine . and no health problems before or after . hope this info helps Fraze , andy .
Guest cloudview Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 ive had this happen in the past , not often tho. usually been in stock never flown out , was told it was ruptered spleen another case was a yearling at saintes 520 mile hard race , dead day after she,d homed , its just nature i think , happens to perfectly healthy humans as well in this case tho the bird could have hit somthing on route and done internal damage
