mark gilbert wins out of turn with them, geoff cooper wins out of turn with them and many many more! i think you could be the daft 1

He had mainly co-efficent results to brag about but not that many good results in 08 by his own admission. Another lad in his club has won far more. So I asked De Moneyman where he lived?

He probably kept it cause he has a big setup and knows he could flog it eventually to stupid English tourists with more money than sense. £700 quid would pay for its keep. Its priobably bred him nowt and he's tested its young uns over its 5 years of breeding then decided to get rid.

Yes buy youngsters off the man to race but not ancient stock birds for stupid money.

Maybe if he had wanted 300 quid or something fair enough but 750 is taking the mick to be quite frank.

He's also a bit hazy about his methods he kept telling everyone he didn't treat for nothing not even canker. Brian Simpson from B&K Simpson was there and Bri knows a thing or two about pigeons and Brian asked him what he would do if one of his top pigeons got canker? He couldn't answer the question directly and got very evasive.

On comprision we went to see some real pigeon men like Maurice Mattheuws and the Die Racks wo had small setups and didn't charge a forture and they were all honest about treating for res etc and their methods. Lovely pigeons as well. Romain Legists were lovely and he charged £70.00 for stockbirds and he's got some fine pigeons.

I'm not denying that De-Weerdt has achieved success and has good pigeons I just like to buy pigeons off honest men for an honest price and he didn't come across as a man whose in it for the sport to me. He came across as a man whose in it to fleece people.

As for Geoff Cooper and Gilbert etc yes good fanciers in the NFC who have won with them. The NFC is a relatively small organisation that just specialises in distance racing for mainly the southern part of England.

The NEHU and its organisations such as The Upnorth, WDA and Durham Combine are recognised as the strongest competion in England yet I haven't heard of D Weerdts pigeons doing much damage up here.

A pigepnman that is at least equal if not better than both Gilbert or Cooper is probably Geoff Kirkland who is a legend. he's seliing youngsters for £50.00 latebreds in the homing world which will be ideal for stock. Wonder how much De-Weerd would want for them?
