At the minute I have my cocks and hens together, only thing  is that my only tumbler pigeon seems to be kissing one of my racers and they are sharing one of my pipo boxes (no nests) voluntarily,in my inexperienced opinion they are getting it on  ;) I think it would not be a good idea to cross them if that is indeed possible but what should I do? he  cock of the loft :-/

if you cant part them off just dont let the eggs chip out, they will breed a mickey (racer/ tumbler cross) ,

just put plastic eggs under them, i know people who use them to feed other young birds

before i got racers ,i had white garden pigeons ,they were a cross of white racer/fantail /and tumbler . when i started racing i only had a few and used one of the garden hens to pair to a racer . he flew well to this hen (she was a flirt) i didnt let them raise there own ,but floated stock eggs under them.                        andy.

yes ,raise anothers young.provided eggs are laid approx same time its not a problem (maximum 3 days variation) closer the better. and Seona they wont know any diffrent (honest). also the white garden birds i had as crosses ,many were gifted out to people upto 30 miles away ,very often they would return if let out too early.                andy.

I like the floating eggs idea as I would like to keep my racers pure as who knows in the future I might take up racing and send the one blaz picked out to the national  ;D ;D ;D

Should I give them a nest ? is it too early they seem to be the only ones paired off :-/

lonliness doesnt make the heart always grow fonder . after they have been seperated a few months over the winter ,when presented with a nice hen ,most cocks will accept her and she -him .                        andy.

looks like I need a few tips on pigeonsutra!! ;D ;D

No joke,fire away I don't have a clue :B

if you dont have access to a library ,i have a few books that state some basic stuff ,and still refer to them(although i have stated in the past ,best way to learn is to look at the birds not whats written in text) "dont panic mr mannering ,just ask away Seona. no of us know or claim to know everything (even Jimmy White will admit we are all still learning) i tell you after 12 months time youll know as much as me ,i know because youre keen to learn . trust youre inner feelings first (easier for a female to do than a male) you know we are doubters ,in everything we do . ask each question as it arises ,sure well do our best to answer each and every one .                               andy.

I always go see/talk to jimmy with the best intentions of talking pigeons but somehow we always manage to avoid the issue and spend way too much time laughing. He and blaz are back in a wee while so I will try and be sensible although with that pair it will be a task ;D I will do a bit of research on line as wales is a little far to pop in for a book :)
