invalidusername Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 Bluey is moulting - neck looking a bit scrawny, and around his eyes, he's losing feathers. Looks a bit of a state compared with how he usually looks. Makes him look years older. I've never had a pigeon going through a moult before. I think the time to get through a moult depends largely on the birds condition/health? On average though, any pointers on how long it usually takes, and should I be giving any additional supplements? Thanks.
pjc Posted July 24, 2008 Report Posted July 24, 2008 He will take a couple of weeks to tidy up around head etc. Best thing to do is give plenty of regular baths but no need to change what your doing. Phil
invalidusername Posted July 24, 2008 Author Report Posted July 24, 2008 As ever, thanks, Phil. He looks a bit like a moth-eared old teddy bear (other than the fact that he's a bird, not a bear LOL).
