UNCLE Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 hello again, can anyone tell me why pigeons tremble/shake
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 depends on the tremble or shake could be as simple as fluffing up its feathers to regulate its temperature to ailing
Merlin Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Can also denote fitness/top class condition.,especially "slight /shaking/ tremble"
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 could also denote alot of illnesses , like the on set of paramixo , ornithosis , and microplasma related illnesses
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 when is the bird / birds in question shaking ? and have they been vacinated for paromixo virus ?
invalidusername Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Mine have a little quiver now and again. Sometimes just before preening, or sometimes just because! I guess it might depend on the severity of the shake, and how long it lasts?
OLDYELLOW Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 invalid thats just normal no need to worry
Guest Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 hello again, can anyone tell me why pigeons tremble/shakewell being i would say ,unless they have been on the pop the night before ATB les. (dizzy)
invalidusername Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 invalid thats just normal no need to worry I didn't think so, but thought if that was the sort of thing the op was experiencing, it probably wasn't anything to be concerned about. Many thanks. well being i would say ,unless they have been on the pop the night before ATB les. (dizzy) ;-D ;-D ;-D and who hasn't been there! :-)
Peckedhen Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 My fantails quiver with excitement when they see peanuts! :) They also purr when they come to eat them.
billy wilson Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 i like to see my widow hood cocks tails quivering sign of fitness
Guest Freebird Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 I was always under the impression that this was a sign of peak condition. When the bird was alert it would tremble slightly. Now i'm not so sure and would like to hear the views of some more experienced fanciers. I take it your bird only does this occasionally and not all the time and it looks like a nervous tremble but otherwise the bird looks fine and in fact looks extremely good.
Guest IB Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Was a thread on this subject on here few years back; pigeons 'quiver' for several reasons, its all part of their body-language, and part of our job is to read correctly what is going on. In addition to stuff mentioned here, a less-dominant bird will 'quiver' in the presence of a dominant pigeon, especially one that's duffed-up him/her in the very recent past.
jimmy white Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 hello again, can anyone tell me why pigeons tremble/shake[/quote if its racing pigeons , a slight tremble or shake, can be a sign of fittness, some fancy pigeons ,do this geneticly i,e, fantails [slight movement of neck] but if any of these is more than slight,, possible illness .ie paramyxo, paratyphoid etc [involuntary movements ,,of the neck especially]
