the thing is to try and keep him happy. EG no young cocks giveing him a hard time his pick of boxes and so on. build up his energy with carbohydrates just to give him a boost.

if one day i am lucky enough to have a bird reach that age .when he cant breed any more he will still live out the rest of his life  in the loft .regardless of needing space etc. as birds dont get that old unless thy have produced the goods for you .

A friend has a Maurice Delbar cock that now aged 19 - he didnt expect to fill this year however it has produced 3 out of 4 eggs and handles like a pigeon 10 years younger.
