hopper feeding old and young birds

hi can any one tell me about hopper feeding young birds and old birds and what would be the best way to go about it

i hopper feed..and it  worked for me this season. for ob i suppose the danger is that the birds get fat...excersize less...get fatter. with this in mind i feel you need 25% barley and make sure its virtually all gone before topping up. i went to 350 miles like this and lost few birds. my mentors ' tore their hair out' with my ration...but couldn't argue with results. you'll need to keep an eye on how well they excersize around loft. for yb i hopper feed a prop. yb mix as i find they fly for fun and keep themselves fit...but i don't look to be competitive at yb racing. probably some more experienced hopper feeders will post...i'll be as interested as you
