Guest briancol Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 do you think MAPLE PEAS alone, along with multi vitimes is enough to feed pigeons.minerals and grit as well of course but as a food i mean.
Guest slugmonkey Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 Maple pea skin contains same substance used to make birth control pillsI only use white or austrian ( small green ) They could probably survive but I think they need some fat and carbs AND they are pretty expensive
Guest spin cycle Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 like slugmonkey said pretty expensive. i mix 25% maples/wheat/tics/ barley and feed this all year round . works out £7-50 bag and the maples are half the cost.
Guest briancol Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 spincycle how are your birds doing on this, any results?
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 do you think MAPLE PEAS alone, along with multi vitimes is enough to feed pigeons.minerals and grit as well of course but as a food i mean. not much of a diet , think it would need to be more varied than that, just my opinion though
Guest Owen Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 If you want to fly YBs it is best to leave the legumes out. Feed 50% barley, feed grade plus what ever you want. Tannin, which is the colouring agent in peas and beans is a mild poison. Raw linseed is much the same. Cook the linseed ansd leave the brown peas and beans in the feed store. You don't need them.
Guest stb Posted July 29, 2009 Report Posted July 29, 2009 would not feed on 100%maples or beans , but would have at least 30% in my mixtures would not race on mix thinned down with barley, birds like that dont have a long shelf life. looking for birds to win from 2 years onward,
