LISTER Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Can't afford one, spent all my money on boxes. ;D :X nice one jamie lol :X
OLDYELLOW Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 how long have they been trading then? since Amtrak went bust so dint take them as long as Amtrak to get it wrong then :-/
steve Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 i didn't need any boxes a date for collection and a price would of been nice
PigeonTracker Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Never thought you were part of their company to know thier business Duncan? Pigeons were are good revenue stream for them and probably did play a part in thier demize, who knows, you certainly don't, niether do I but giving anything way at a loss is never a good move. Anyway, as much as I'd like to chit-chat about the world of commerce this has nothing to do with the original post so will let the thread move on now. Did the poster get someone in the end? I hardly think Amtrak went burst giving away free boxes, for every £30 they would spend less than a pound supplying boxes. Pigeons were only a tiny part of their turnover nationally :-/
flighty hen Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Well that's one down already, let's hope no more go, some good one's out there, pigeon tracker is great, but because they coming from louella they use their own, whoever they may be now :-/
DOVEScot Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 They didnt give many away cant remember the last time they actually turned up with a box ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D We had a local driver who was from pigeon stock and kept us well supplied no problem there
pjc Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 If AM have gone bust i suspect Louella contributed to there demise. When Amtrak went i pointed out to a couple of couriers who were going to approach them for there business that Louella needed them more than they needed louella business at discounted rates etc. Phil
PigeonTracker Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Sorry about the thread going astray here Steve, we can take this on and will p.m the details. just thought id ask on here instead of ringing them all up (so many now) what i want is a price and a date you can collect/deliver (i want next day delivery) not put in holding lofts there will be minimum of 10 pigeons in total (in alumium basket) collection from folkestone (ct20 3qp) to middlesbrough (ts39px) thanks in advance steve feel free to post on here or pm me
OLDYELLOW Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Im supprised louella dint start there own courier service up , they have the funding to set it up cant be viable or they'd be doing it themselves

You are the one that advocates that companies like Amtrak couriered pigeons along with ladders heavy boxes and dangerous chemicals Amtrak is a worldwide company and is still operating, just not in the UK Also you are not part of all the companies that you seem to know all about Did the poster get someone in the end? Like I said you only read parts of threads, especially the ones that suit you ;D ;D ;D i didn't need any boxes a date for collection and a price would of been nice
DOVEScot Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 since Amtrak went bust so dint take them as long as Amtrak to get it wrong then :-/ I think they were on the go before Amtrak went bust, I am sure Vallance lofts put a post up then they started
tippler1 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 i think sometimes reading these post what are us pigeon flyers we moan we need people to fetch and carry are birds for us as its cheaper than doing it are selfs and what do we do run them down so in the end thay say thats it no more fetch your own birds thay dont need all this moaning and yes we need them look at us when amtrak went
retired Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I think they were on the go before Amtrak went bust, I am sure Vallance lofts put a post up then they started Your right Duncan When Amtrack were on the go it was a straight choice for us of Amtrack or AM Deliveries, so when they decided originally to call it a day (about three weeks before amtrack went) myself and another forum member managed to talk Mike into giving it a go for a bit longer. I have not heard from them for a long time but since they took on the Massarella job i am not suprised (big fish & small fish thing) although i did get him quite a busy job of moving all the birds for Geoff Clare of Clares Pet products - I can only imagine that they simply took too much work on without actually having the resources and cashflow to complete the operation. All the best to Mike though was a decent chap and i hope rather than the business going bust that they actually decided they didnt want the hassle.

I think this will be the norm until the tides settle and the waters calm, the good ships and captains will stay afloat and the rest will sink or head to the harbour for shelter ;D ;D ;D
steve Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 just an update on how i have got on so far well after a poor response looks like i will be meeting someone in nottingham on sunday which to be honest i could see this coming with poor reponse from the phone calls i made last week so if anyone needs birds collecting between middlesbrough and nottingham on sunday gissa a shout (i could be your courier) ;D ;D ;D ;D

The real fancier customer will cherish thier chosen courier and encourage them not beat them up. I often get worried when this praise is heaped on courier A B and C because it puts pressures on them to maintain the promises they made when starting out which is usually an unrealistic one certainly in the long term.

I often get worried when this praise is heaped on courier A B and C because it puts pressures on them to maintain the promises they made when starting out which is usually an unrealistic one certainly in the long term. As for Flying Couriers, for non fanciers I admire the guts they are showing going into a field they know nothing about, (although I do get to hear a little more than you on how they're doing). Its a case just as AM delivery, they go through a honeymoon period for a while then see how hard it is and pay the price. I'm hoping they don't get lulled into a false sense of just how much kowledge and investment is needed to get a good efficient courier service up and running and wish them well. Maybe you should listen to what you say sometimes "pot kettle black" You really are into slagging or patronising every other courier that is not willing to join your empire :-/
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 just to clarify things here i have boxs supplyed by tracke to big d which are 7 new ones on the price of boxs amtrac were selling boxs at 25 p a time as we bought 100 for sale we held in club on subject of debbs they are doing good job and as for not being fanciers so what you state on this site youer driver.driver.s have boyfreinds with them sometimes now im not thick you stated youer driver .s are fanciers and know how to look after birds do they im going to put this to you as trader you have insurance to cover liability which my freind is viod as soon as non worker is allowed to be carried in one of youer vans cars as with lorrys we have in tesco.s we are not allowed to carry or allowed passengers it seems to me youer on this site purely to pump youerself not to contribute anything constructive dove and myself may have laugh mess about but some on here judging by my pm.s enjoy it and both of us have contributed lot money help to others what have you done nowt if you want to keep wingeing about this site members leave it its not free advertiseing company and im sure others aresick of you bleating how good you are c j maidment ptl part of maid ment holding.s uk mc logagistic limited

Guest Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Well put Chris ............. as I said on another thread last night which has now been ended. We are NOT stupid, we all know that by Jamie coming on here shouting his mouth off, that all he is doing is digging his own grave. Because of the way he has behaved, I would rather walk to Scotland, with boxes under my arm, than use his company. . . . . . . YOU ARE DOING YOURSELF NO FAVOURS JAMIE BY TRYING TO PROVE TO US THAT YOU THINK YOU ARE THE BEST........... SIMPLY ISN'T TRUE ............ ALL COURIERS DO A DAMN GOOD JOB AND WE AS FANCIERS ARE GRATEFUL FOR THAT .............. PREFERENCE IS A MATTER OF CHOICE MATE, AND YOU WONT CHANGE THAT
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 I'm not going to comment on this matter anymore i could say lot more but being me i'm not here to be made miserable I'm here for enjoyment fun laughter and good info from good fanciers and that's it so boys tonight watch the fight as lightweight is going down ;D ;D ;D ;D
PigeonTracker Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Well put Chris ............. as I said on another thread last night which has now been ended. We are NOT stupid, we all know that by Jamie coming on here shouting his mouth off, that all he is doing is digging his own grave. I don't know who you are but you'll find I've never once come onto this forum "Shooting my mouth off" and I've p.md Chris to that degree now. I only ever post facts that I can back up, nothing more. I'm not on here to get into arguments or discredit anyone, or even to advertise for that matter, I'm on here to answer questions and post a few facts now and again. Amtrak wouldn't have done that, neither would Coopers etc, I can see why now as its not nice having faceless bullies trying to goad them all the time. It's really is starting to look like there's a few playground bullies coming onto this forum ganging up on Pigeon Tracker, so I'll post this one message to you and to the other four who seem to wear the same t-shirts. This one isn't for bullying, you couldn't do it in my face so on a forum its going to be downright impossible as it makes you lot look bad not me. And for the record, I've read through every single one of my posts and not once said Pigeon Tracker are the best, its our customers who say that and I have no control over that. Take care, Jamie
