had a bird reported in Spain which was liberated in France from Lillers last weekend when there was mist in the channel my pigeon ended up in a place not far from the ferry port so the birds either flown 755 miles which im certain its capable of or ended up on a ferry in the mist and ended up in Santander Spain, by a fancier called Manuel Quijano , i have since replied to him to see if can get on a ferry and liberated or to france border and liberated , or transfered to himself :)

this would tie in with the clashing theory after a portugese bird has been picked up and a rig off east coast!

OY, you could be right about the ferry theory. My wifes parents went on the Plymouth-Santander ferry and after a couple hours a sea while getting dusk a small group of birds hit the deck. My FIL reckoned one was def a GB ring (he was a fancier too). They were still onboard at darkness so he assumed they stayed overnight, until the ferry was nearing its destination.
