rockinrick Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 hi all i had a bird come down wid my old birds today , it was an 06 ring bird with a race rubber on over top of rpra race ring , so i looked bird over and found phone number for owner , on talking to the owner he said the bird was a 07 bird with a 06 ring on and he had put bird in race for trainer so i asked why was ring covered up with rubber he said so i could put in 07 bird race , i was gobsmacked , i didnt know wat to say . :o :o :o
leighton1984 Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 HI i do think this is ok if the bird can not enter the race but going as a trainer did he say if this bird was a late bred and he had no more rings to put on them .
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 he cant clock it but he can send it
THE FIFER Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 it is a young bird with an old ring on and sent as a trainer, so nothing wrong in this, the bird is not in the race.
rockinrick Posted August 18, 2007 Author Report Posted August 18, 2007 hi all surely this is wrong , ? as bird isnt wat ring says , and why have a race rubber if not racing ? i think there was a bit of deception going on , ok send for trainning yes i maybe would do same but who can say that he wasnt going to clock it ?????? :-/
Wiley Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 wouldnt be able to clock it, as all rubbers used for the race have a number that must match with the ring number, and if he clocked it and the rubber didnt correspond with any of his pigeons that he sent to the race then he would be disqualified

Guest Posted August 18, 2007 Report Posted August 18, 2007 Tomorrow will be my 3rd trainer at YB races with 2 yearling latebreds and a 2yo., all hens. These birds are ets rung but in 1st x 2 races carried a race rubber. Tonight it was decided as they were carrying ets rings, no need for a rubber - not race marked just straight into basket and obviously don't compete in the race. Quite common to put trainers away with a rubber and as post says, the rubber detail isn't recorded and the rubber is just a visual that the bird has gone thro marking system OK..
