No ring. Maybe a show bird?

A piebald pigeon turned up in my garden about a week ago.  Has to be a tame bird as it doesn't mind being held or stroked.  I have pictures and was hoping to be able to attach them to this message but it doesn't look like its possible.   It looks very similar to the bird in this picture http://www.purebredpigeon.com/Cover2lg.jpg       except it has a small crest on the back of its neck

 

Location is Loughborough in Leicestershire.  Anyone lost such a bird?  or if not, does anyone want one?!  He seems to be doing OK at the moment, but seems to have no natural instinct to flee from danger, and the local cats are not the kindest of creatures!
