karenf Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 This pigeon has been in my garden since Tuesdayish...I now have the number which is GBD02812 I haven't managed to contain it but he's quite happy on the roof and having a wander where I can't get at it! Karen
PIGEONJIMI Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 Theres still 2 numbers missing (after the GB) this will tell you the year
Guest kevin b Posted May 16, 2009 Report Posted May 16, 2009 Hiya Karen if you get another chance to look at the ring you will find another 2 digits between the GB and the D, this will give us the year the bird was bred and a better chance of identifing the owner. Weel done for looking after him or her, if you treat it well you may just have to build a loft to keep it in lol. Kevin
karenf Posted May 16, 2009 Author Report Posted May 16, 2009 Hahaha....I am fascinated by all this...but my very efficient cat would have a field day! This pigeon is very lucky and seems to be catwise as it staying well out of reach..unfortunately that's out of reach of me too! I now have the full number, there is 08 after the GB. I have just received a reply from my original thread giving me the club secretary's number of Darlaston where the pigeon is thought to originate from. Thank you all for your jhelp. Karen
