I used no artificial light whatsoever, only the daylight through the shed window at about lunchtime! I tried the flash but it was a bit severe so all mine were taken with natural daylight and no flash. Our small club has a pigeon photographing pen, which i had access to, it was a big help. I still had to take a fair amount of photos to get a decent one.
