Guest jason Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 over the winter months we don't do a lot with the birds, we loft fly them once per day,but thats about it. So, our training vehicle, a 1996 vauxhall corsa, after doing 1600000 miles, needs a fresh engine, so I'm going to buy one from a scrapyard and refurbish it. we'll be documenting everything we do with it, ie, stripping, cleaning, new parts and the full rebuild of a vauxhall engine. Before you all ask I'm a qualified engineer and looking forward to doing it after the racing season has ended. so if your mechanically minded, you may wish to take a look!!!. Jason

Peckedhen Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Takes me back this. When I was a poor student me and a friend bought a mini traveller for the grand sum of £6 !! We then bought a secondhand engine for £4 and used a block and tackle over the garage doors to replace the old engine. That car lasted us another three years Good value for money huh? ;D
