I have 2 lofts. One is just for my breeding pigeons. Its 8x10 feet with an outdoor aviary.  The second loft is for my younger birds that I am starting to train.  I don’t plan on racing just want to have them home and see how far I can get them to fly.  This loft is 12x16 with 8 foot tall walls.  I have about 10 pairs of breeders with 18 nest boxes. I am getting ALOT of babies. I have my first few that are now leaving the nest and eating on the floor like the mature birds. My questions are as follows.

How long after they leave the nest should I leave them with the parents?

Should I partition my “flyers” loft to include a section for newly weaned squab? I only feed my flyers once per day and am not sure if that is enough for newly weaned babies. The loft is large enough to partition part of it for them if need be.

At what age can they move to the flyers section? I am just starting to let my flyers out (they are about 3 months old) and want the younger birds to have an  even earlier start on training.

Thanks for any and all advice!
