Guest Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Tony Read of Loughborough, has the best of these Huysken Van Riel bloodlines and is cheap. I purcased six from myself last season, have put two in the stock loft i liked them that much! His birds are quality mate, and he himself is a very genuine bloke! Dave.

timbarra Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Huysken-van riel pigeons are possibly not in their pure state anymore , I know for a fact that Mr van riels son Franscois gave up pigeons a short while back and he had his fathers main bloodlines and pigeons, now they are dispearsed. remember do your research and just because somebody says is this or that ... well its just a label. look for the old original bloodlines not something many tmes removed !! regards spencer
Guest Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Agree with what you are saying Spencer, good advice, but that is to be said regarding all strains / family base bloodlines with which you look to bring in. Tony Read has had these bloodlines for as long as i can remember. Granted they will be cultivated in Tony's way, but the base bloodlines are Huysken Van Riels originals all the same! I can only comment on what i know, i have them, they were cheap, and they are quality. They haven't done anything for me yet, but they are only last years youngsters, and have not as yet had the opportunity in the racing arena, but they will get it! Tony bred a UNC winner from Bourges (570 miles) up here, and if he does the same for me i'll not only consider myself to be fortunate, i'll be well happy!!
timbarra Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 Hi Darky, yes I agree tony read has quality bird and your spot on when you say they have been cultivated his way. It is hard to find original van riels nowadays and I know they where based on a big % of van den bosche pigeons. I would have no doubt that they will be good pigeons for yourself. regards spencer
