Peckedhen Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Bit of a long shot but, here goes..... I lost my only hen to a Sparrowhawk last week and her mate is terribly lonely, calling for her. Please does anyone have a Garden Fantail hen they would be willing to sell? Hopefully in the NW so that I can avoid courier costs. Sue.
DJ Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 sorry to hear that you lost your hen bird to a sparrowhawk sue the hawks have been a nightmare this year and i totally sympathise with you i had a yb handed back to me yesterday by a neighbour which was being plucked by a sparrowhawk in her garden but she managed to save it the yb is still shaky but it should be ok im sorry that i cant help you with a replacement but hopefully someone else can? ive got a orange flashing light coming soon for the garden the type that is used on roadworks as ive heard that it can prevent hawk attacks so will keep you all posted debbie
Peckedhen Posted March 12, 2009 Author Report Posted March 12, 2009 Sorted now - I have had one offered. Thanks Debbie. I have done very well and managed four years without an attack but, I was horrified when I saw what it had done to my little hen. She was the first bird I had and was very tame - flying down the field to land on me when she saw me coming. Let us know how the flashing light works.
