Guest Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Hi Paul my uncle had it done about 5 years ago. He is a carpenter by trade, and was out for about 6 months but now has no problems at all. All the best with it.
jimmy white Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 good luck to you paul im sure you will find a big difference in the pain and movement , i, unfortunately have advanced ankylosing spondulitis, [for many years now , i self inject "anti tnf injection" 3 times a week.and strong pain killers ] had an mri scan [one of many :'(] few weeks ago to see if it was poss, to take a disc out ,but on seeing the state of my back etc theve decided its inoperatable ,to dangerous , as most of my back is fused, but they may be able to operate on a nerve wich has pressure on it causing numb foot ,not the best of news to me,,,,,,,,,,but whilst in hospital met many who had discs removed ,, every one of them felt a great benifit just with a bit of time , so best of luck to you paul im quite sure youll benefit from this op.

ch pied Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 PAUL , after the op , they will fit you for a corset , called a REDEMMY BELT 2 steel braces at the back for support , after 3 or 4 week's you prob wont need it , just dont tell your mate's you got a corset on , like i did , the slagging was brutal,
