Guest Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 We have been heavily overstocked and have decided to reduce by 50%, we have culled our oldest stock, a new starter has taken some pairs but we still have 4 birds surplus too good to cull. They are priced to sell. 1 & 2 are a pair of Hermans we purchased on this site at the end of last year, follow this link the birds are lots 2 & 12, they are £30 each. http://www.pigeonbasics.com/forum/blah/m-1162501526/s-2/highlight-hermans/#num2 3 Blue Wt Fl Cock Jan Aarden bred by Steve Wright House of Aarden £30, pedigree below I hope! 4 Dk Ch C Van Der Wegen, I bought this in Jan 2005 in the BHW, didn't know what its breeding was, except Andy Gregson bred it, which was good enough for me. Got my loft up for 2006, bred nothing special , this year bred my first YB from Fareham 98 mile, about 8th 140 birds. The upshot was that he is a full brother to a pair of nestmate brothers which I still have £30. Pedigree of sire and dam below. Buyers to pay carraige.
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 We've had no reponse to these, I thought they were excellent value, for example when can you buy a van der wegen, with both parents bred by Jac Van Der Wegen for £30!! Herman's from a top herman man and a young cock not been bred from by Steve Wright, House of Aarden all at £30 each. However I appreciate its all about perception, how that works I'm not sure, we've had quite a good year........... so we would offer these at a further reduction @ £20 each or the 4 for £70. I would hate to dispose of these birds

Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 You may be right Tammy ..........but I don't think you are. Mark I don't think there is any suggestion that the people on here in general are nothing but100%, I think the suggestion was that because of the odd occurance people are wary. Paul thank you for the kind support.
Guest Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I have been offered an amout by someone restarting, I made him what I think is an excellent offer so that he would have 3 pair, in other words I would throw two hens in for him. I asked him to come back by 8.30 but he hasn't. I would like to make a fresh offer to sell these birds. I will make them up to three pairs by adding two hens, one a latebred hen a pure Jimmy Napper Vandy the same way bred as the hen that was 16th sect NFC Geurnsey 2007 for us, the other out of a Nigel Rigiani hen which won a 1st and 2nd across the Channel this year (yearling) for us when mated to a Dutch cock, a grandson of Gouden Frans. £100 for the 6
Guest Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Well there’s been no interest, which for us is disappointing. However I will reiterate in our opinion these birds are too good to dispose of. We would like to offer them free to anyone who would like them, just pay the carriage and make a small donation to this site. Thanks Alan
cooey stuey Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 hi albear interested in the arden &wegen cocks got plenty of spare hens 40£ the pair and ill pay the carr cheers stu
Guest Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Cooey Stuey, I would love to sell you these birds for £40........ but I can't .......... I've offered them for free.......... I've had 7 pms since I've posted lunchtime and two of them also said how much? I was brought up in Wales and I wear my heart on my sleeve. So you often get what I feel and at this moment I feel a bit sick. I'm in partnership with a friend who financially is far stronger than me. I survived this year on the YB I sold. In my opinion (and I think I have shown on the eye threads that I'm rather unusual in that I can actually pick the birds by the eye) these birds are a steal at £100 for the six and that money would have helped me keep going. I always try to be honest and I will not hide the fact that we are hoping to bring some birds in from a quality fancier at a very reasonable (excellent) price, the reason being that we have never had a family/strain just heinz varieties but have done very well this last full season together . One fancier who has been selling single birds on here for near the price that I'm offering the 6 for even sent a pm for them!!! Mind you I do not condemn him because he's recognised a bargain. Please don't ask who he is cause he has pmd me and I will respect the fact that he has contacted me through a private message. No problem if he wants to identify himself. The birds are going to Mr Ward of Sheffield who will be sending a donation to pigeonbasics once they are received. I wish him good luck with them and sincerely hope he is successful with them, thak you to all the others who replied by PM Thanks Alan
