You've confused best flyer which a west picked up. Best flyer is for the flying breeds which include show racers tumblers etc, its not that theres two types.

Not something I know a lot about, we went the show as it was local

So what are the birmingham rollers then and it was the SCOTTISH FLYING CLUB..

i give up i dont claim to no every thing about wests but the one thing i do no is there are flyers and show birds

I am not disputing wether there are flyers or not,but if you cannot show them or compete in flying competitions I see little point in having them.If they are just for looking at you might as well have the better looking show birds.I think a lot of poor quality wests are passed of as flyers to unsuspecting beginners who no know better and believe there are two types.

As you have not put forward any evidence to back up your claims then  Pigeonclarke and all the other WEFT breeders that I know seem to be correct that as a breed they are now more of a show breed and are not selected on their flying ability.
