superstar Posted December 3, 2007 Report Posted December 3, 2007 Listed below are 16 birds, Not rubbish not worth keeping (they go in the bin here) but birds I am forced to have to part with due to a chronic lack of space. Some of you may remember that nearly 12 months ago now my home and contents were destroyed by fire and personal family matters have caused me to have to house 2 lofts of birds, both stock and racers in one loft, which believe me doesn't work well! My son John has raced the birds this year to a very over crowded loft and still managed to win cards so maybe that will tell you the birds kept aren't too bad, but we now feel the time has come to offer some of the birds to other fanciers and make room for even better racing in 2008 (we hope). Lot's 1, 2 and 3 were bred for me by a good friend in Scotland from the direct Dave Allen Van Reets he has at stock. We have now got birds in our race team out of these pigeons and they have flown very well for us and due to the lack of space are having to part with the parents. Lot 1 Dk Cheq Cock SU06B976 Staf Van Reet. Lot 2 Blue Pied Hen SU06B978 Staf Van Reet. Lot 3 Dk Cheq Pied Hen SU06B980 Staf Van Reet. Lot's 4, 5 and 6 were bred by Ashtree Lots and have all flown the Hereford and south Shrops YB program Lot 4 Blue hen WHU07N07895. Lot 5 Cheq Hen WHU07N07896. Lot 6 Pencil W/F Hen WHU07N07897. Lot 7 Is something a bit different, she is a Van Elsacker/Jepson of D Burton lines, she was 1 of 6 that were exchanged for some of our Van Reets here on PigeonBasics last year and is bred down from a string of winners. Lot 7 Cheq Hen GB07H09879 Van Elsacker/Jepson. Lot 8 is a Silver Pied Van Reet Hen, bred once again for me by my good friend in Scotland from birds he had previously had from me. The mother was bred by me, he bred 4 birds to race out of her last year and all of them scored. Lot 8 Silver Pied Hen Staf Van Reet. Lot 9 is a Blue Pied Staf Van Reet Cock bred by Tony Mardon and was a bird he retained for his own use for 3 years or so. He cost me in excess of £300 at auction last year and was paired to 2 different hens and he bred card winners with both, we still have 3 of the 4 now and the one missing was 2nd club 300+ birds the week before she failed to home. Lot 9 Blue Pied GB02V06022 Staf Van Reet Bred by Tony Mardon. Lot 10 is a Mealy Hen Staf Van Reet bred by Chris Locke, she is Dam of several card winners up to 2nd at Federation level Lot 10 Mealy Hen GB02D63293 Staf Van Reet of Schone Vale Daniel lines. Lot 11 Cheq Pied Cock Staf Van Reet, sire of card winners up to 4th Federation. Contains the blood of "Toey", "Donkere Witpen Daniel" and the lines of "majestic" x Princess85" and Ian Staffords "No1 pair". Lot 11 Cheq Cock GB04H14445 Staf Van Reet. Lot 12 Blue Cock Van Reet of the higest caliber, if he doesn't go on to breed winners I will eat my hat! Bred down from Ian Staffords Best stuff and one yougster I should really build another shed to keep it in. Lot 12 Blue Cock GB07H09890 Staf Van Reet. Lot 13 Blue Pied Hen Staf Van Reet that has bred card winners and would be ideal to pair to either lot 9, 11 or 12. She is a sister to several winners of 1st club and Fed. Lot 13 Blue Pied Hen GB05H15123 Staf Van Reet of Ian Stafford/ Tony Mardon lines. Lot 14 White Cock "Fulgent" Sire of card winners for both myself and others. Contains the blood of "Majestic", "Princess85", "Sultans Ace" "Witte Sultan" "Halcro", "Hail", Etc. Lot 14 White Cock GB03H41726 "Fulgent" Staf Van Reet. Lot 15, 16 Near White Hen and White Hen, nest pair bred from Lot 14 When paired to "Holly Vallence" The bird on my avtar. Both hens flew the full YB race program in 2006 and were in the clock a few times but were never broken to the new loft just bred from. The white Hen has the middle toenail missing due to an accident with the sputnik as a squeaker Lot 15 Near White Hen GB06H07492 Staf Van Reet. Lot 16 White Hen GB06H07493 Staf Van Reet. All the above birds are open to offers either as part of this thread or PM's and are genuinly only going due to the lack of space. Thank you for looking and reading and feel free to contact me if there is something you are interested in or make me an offer. 10% of what these birds make will be donated to PigeonBasics, the site has been more than good to me in my darkest days and without the help of it I would not be here posting this now. Once again a very big thank you to all concerned you have something very special here keep up the good work! Mark

superstar Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 Firm bids on birds so far are Lot 3 & 14 as a pair £90 Lot 9 £80 Lot 16 £10 Have had plenty of interest but we will see how it goes. Bobthegas thanks for putting that into perspective, it just goes to show how one simple innocent comment can be interpreted as it sure did kill this off. I can always prove the ability of my pigeons as they have been at or very near the top in the pigeon clubs I,ve been in for the past 10yrs and club secretaries or other members wouldnt lie about that. Only ever been a club flyer so cant boast national or classic possitions but its better to have stood on the top of a club list a few times than nowhere at all I think especially with good classic fliers in the club to fly against. I'm more than proud of what the birds do for me anyway. All the best to you all, Mark

superstar Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 Just to clarify, is it a 9pm deadline or a ten minute non activity ruling? Food for thought that DOVEScot think that might have been a good idea but as it was first set up as a 9pm deadline then we will leave it as that. Not one for moving the goal posts in the middle of a game but will note that for another time. Cheers and all the best to you, Mark & John

superstar Posted December 9, 2007 Author Report Posted December 9, 2007 Crikey this seemed like a good idea and a nice gesture to PigeonBasics for the kindness the site has shown to me but seems to be becoming a bit of a headache! If people want 2 birds then PLEASE PLEASE make seperate bids for each of them as it will become a nightmare. they are listed as sepearate lots and thats the way they will have to go. cheers all, Mark & John
