ChrisMaidment08 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 A lot of that has been lost now with small clubs, the banter on a friday and sat night, club shows etc through the winter all used to be part of the enjoyment, now if you win to much you become an outcast! it sounds right but oddfellows never seems to change still a laugh sill made welcome with a drink from chairman pill its a click and not very frendly
Guest strapper Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 i prefer "cock and thimble"system.thats the way i know and prefer.so i will be joining a club that flys that way.but i am in the process of finding which clubs are available to me,because i know boundries are involved. i personally wouldnt judge a club from a single persons view, i would ask around and judge for urself. as someone may have a grudge against a certain club , so i would get some info off local flyers, about clubs in ur area. hope u get sorted.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 well he could ask his naighbour who is in that club
Guest Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 i personally wouldnt judge a club from a single persons view, i would ask around and judge for urself. as someone may have a grudge against a certain club , so i would get some info off local flyers, about clubs in ur area. hope u get sorted. sounds like a good idea to me :) oh and pjc they dont come any odder than you .....pmsl.............amanda ;D ;D ;D

Guest strapper Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 ive been in the same club nowhere in s/wales for over 10yrs,never thought of changing clubs, happy in this one where ive been chairman for 2years and sec for the last 5years,re elected by every member so i must be doing summut right lol,im glad im not in a club where i have to look over my shoulder each week!...only changed club once..for the better.
pjc Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 i've been in the same club since moveing here and been sec for almost the same length of time, no other mug will do it!!!
pjc Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 it is when you've got a good team around you which i have. The problem is your tied to it, I don't mind the job but I can't give 100% to it and can't be at the club every marking and checking night. This year 1 current and 1 ex members have caused problems which along with my kids now being at an age they want to do things at weekends has made my mind up to let somebody else have a turn. Phil
sammy Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 sec job is easy when yi plenty time on yir hands
ChrisMaidment08 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 i was only joking i had plenty of problems as chairman with some members
Guest strapper Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 the secs job is a thankless one at times..some wont take on the job but some do critisize the ones that will do it.
paul10121968 Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 one thing is for certain,we could not do without these people who give up their time to keep our clubs running smoothly.i for one admire them.
Guest tom123 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 chris maidment im disturbed by your recent postings on here regarding the pill rpc and would like to know where you got your info from and explain yourself 1) you have never even applied to jion the club or had intentions to do so 2)yes we were awarded the lottery funding for our elderly and disabled fanciers which stands at 80 % of them out of the 25 we have why you should find reason comment on this i dont no has its got nothing to do with you 3 what other club in the country offers its membership 3a social evnings through out the year for fanciers and spouces and families 3b family days trips out in the summer for its membership 3c annual trips to holland and belgium 3d breeder/buyers 3e yb ring schemes 3f free membership for junior members under 16 so for you to indicate that the club is clicky and unfriendly has you put it we aint doing bad are we if i remember the last time you came to the club some 3yrs ago you accused one of our members of having and showing one of your pigeons which caused distress to the member concerned who challenged you to accompany him to his loft and prove your aligations which you refused for which you later sent a letter of appolige to the club about your actions and behaviour that day the club is run in the right mannor with everything above board for the benifit of its membership and does`nt warrent your accusations for which i would like to appoligise for the re,marks made yours tom harris secretary pill rpc newport
OLDYELLOW Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 i think a balanced approach was made when one of the members on here said ' don't judge any clubs by one persons experience ' i suggest you invite this young gentleman to your club and show him how nice your club is by inviting him to a ' basketing night ' And if your lucky to get a new pair of hands to help out he may want to join your club Can't hurt anyone to ask ?
Guest tom123 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 yes i agree to everything you are saying paul has already been invited to the club on fri if he wishes but has secretary of the above club im in a position where i couldnt just sit back and watch mr maidments antics running our club down and say nothing tom harris
joe61 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 quite right tom123 mr maidment is gobby oh happy days
OLDYELLOW Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 as you have put in your response he did have a negative time at your club ,but i think this was down to his conduct and not your club members and he apologised for this , but this shouldnt be used as you rightly said to tarnish your clubs reputation. Anyway lifes too short to hold grudges i think any prospective member will view any club from there ideals not that of others.
Guest tom123 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 all im asking for is for issues to be put in the repective and he retracts his remarks tom harris
Guest tom123 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 i have no personel issues with mr maidment and we have always acknowledged each other when ever we have been in contact either face to face or via telephone and always will but i cannot sit back and watch him make unfounded accquisations about our club for which he has no back ground knowledge of tom harris
