collected from a friends house last night where it had been roosting on her conservatory roof for the last few days, blue race rubber but no tel no. on the bird.Anyone any ideas.
  17. We appear to be on a flight path for birds going north as most saturdays we watch them go over often after checking these appear to be from south coast releases we are west of a1m n. cambs,we also get the huntingdon releases going through.
  18. Race horses and greyhounds definitely have preferences in which way round they run best so I suppose in theory it's possible that pigeons have a preference although I can't say I have noticed any when they are flying out.
  19. One of the main problems with eradicating red mite is although they are more prevalent in the warm weather they can live for approx 36 weeks without feeding.
  20. it definitely sounds like it although I would describe the dust more grey in colour. The mites do not live on the birds but live in cracks and crevises and feed of the birds at night. There are various sprays and powders you can buy but unless you iradicate them from the loft they will reappear.Poultry shield is good you dilute it and spray into all their hiding places,it seems to dissolve them and you will see a green stain where this happens. If the birds are then treated with the drops or one spot type treatments you should be able to keep on top of it.
  21. thanks for that, will give him a ring
  22. this bird has just come in,guessing it's probably from the race from peterborough today as we are close to the release site.No phone no. anybody know the owner.
  23. That will be why we did not see them at ferry meadows then, never mind the dogs had a good run and as its only 5 mins away for us it was not a problem.
  24. I too can think of no benifit to anyone to cut of the rings .We had one reported with the ring cut of,it was wing stamped,a young white bird.
  25. we have recently had one of our white ones reported but the ring has been removed, can only guess why
