When taking the birds off darkness is it a gradual lengthening of the day or an immediate ending? Also how soon after finishing, would be ideal to start training? Thanks in advance,

Grizzle... Ring No GB 10 D 6446.... Landed yesterday afternoon, fed, watered and released 6am this morning. Gained height and cleared. Unfortunately she returned this evening. Wing stamp! Can only make out Shropshire!!!

Hello All, Having made the decision to start racing pigeons again after some forty odd years, I have managed to purchase 2 late bred Janssen Cocks and now looking for a couple of suitable hens to pair to these? Suggestions on type much appreciated? To keep the costs down I would like to be able to pick the birds up rather than pay a courier. Living close to Stourbridge in the West Midlands I would be prepared to travel up to twenty miles. Kind regards, David.

Sure I remember reading that birds can suffer from dehydration it cold conditions, due to them generating a lot of heat trying to keep warm? If that’s the case might need the water?
