  1. The basics are very simple, install an extractor in the section as high as possible and as others rightly suggest, the fresh air needs to come in low on the front. As the air becomes foul within the loft it warms and rises then the fan is ideally placed to remove the warm fouled air from the section and allow cooler fresh oxygen rich air to enter. knowing Steven for 20 years now I copied SvB's system and it is a god send, especially when the weather is hot as the amount of oxygen in the air drops and you have with a fan the ability the increase the air flow and therefore the amount of oxygen in the loft. Great thinking to do this as I am convinced that a lot of lofts problems stem from darkening and restricting the oxygen levels in the loft for the lions share of the day. Also helps to turn it on for a short while when the birds are coming back from exercise and racing, they recuperate so much quicker it is noticeable

Slightly heavy head this morning for sure Rose. I think I am getting to the age when I try to be a little sensible.

    NFC Tarbes

    seemed ok to me
  4. Pigeonpete, I bought nobivac on Monday from pigeon pharmacy (hyperdrug) on Monday who told me that they had also had another delivery coming in yesterday - my vaccine arrived yesterday no problems at all.
  5. I got a new 18 x 6 John Tranter loft just before Blackpool and it is superb, better than anything I have seen on offer from any of the other manufacturers, and having got the quotes it was nowhere as expensive as some. Top man Jamie who makes them.

    Spangles

Quite agree with Stuart about Sid and Val Miles, also worth mentioning that Mike Youngs daughter Nicola is racing from Mikes old loft with Mikes old pigeons. Nicola is learning the ropes and hopefully the family name will be seen on the long distance results again in the very near future
  7. If its under 450 miles they can win it. These are a few of my own performances with Stevens birds 1,2,4 combine 45 miles 4,000 birds 1,2,3,4 combine 96 miles both 4,000 to 5,000 birds 1,2,3,4 fed 250 miles 8 times 1st sect NFC and CSCFC from 100-460 miles against some of the strongest competiton in the country. Not forgetting the 1,2,4,6 etc YB CSCFC 4,300 birds winning a car. Not bad at all. Yes Desmet x Janssen based family and are a true family. What sets them apart is their ability to pass on the winning genes. 1st sect Nantes Nat bred 1st sect CSCFC Guernsey, which bred 1st sect CSCFC Guernsey, which in turn bred a double fed winner, and the list goes on. I only raced approx 12 widow cocks, 5 hens and most years never bred more than 30 youngsters. Also tried natural and they won whatever. If you need any more info just let me know
