Andrew do you honestly think that not going with approximately 60 SL birds would have made a difference yesterday ? Unfortunately it was one of those races where logic and sense go out the window and suspicion and suggestion creep into the conversation. Ultimately it was a bad day at the office and youngsters are missing and most organisations have had a bad race on at least one occasion during this unpredictable young bird season so again I am genuinely sorry that the coalburn returns are poor and hope more have worked in Today

Due to the suggestion of someone telling porkies about the SL Wetherby I have posted my tine sheet for yesterday , I don’t have a clue what happened to the birds but it would appear that some of mine have broken from the batch and started to head home and something has happened to the convoy to stop them homing in the usual manner , I fully appreciate that the coalburn lads have had great racing over the past 6 weeks however Lanarkshire and South a Lanarkshire have it tough with some of the races and birds have been lost just look at the birdage for Lanarkshire yesterday approx 900 birds I hope that the majority of birds work through as we all need them for next years yearlings and I appreciate everyone’s disappointment but let’s please leave the suggestions or implications out of racing and just enjoy our birds if we can

Andrew the race wasn’t fine and as you know there was only about 60 SL birds in the convoy and at 16:00 I appear to be the only person that timed in and returns for SL are not ideal with some returns I know of last night being 4/10 , 4/16 etc so as I have previously said I consider myself very fortunate to have 15/19

Andy I am not sure what happened today as apart from a North West wind there didn’t appear to be anything stopping them and I git a drop of 7 birds at 14:20 and had another 3 by 14:30 ?

Wetherby 15/19 and with reports of missing birds I feel very lucky to get decent returns

South Lanarkshire basketed tonight Jamie and we are hopefully having a race from catterick tomorrow

You are correct we changed the name of South Lanarkshire Fed several years ago to SLIRPC an unintentional bias nuts was that neighbouring fanciers could join if there was capacity

North West winds gusting in excess of 35mph so think Sunday has lighter winds and will that but easier for the youngsters to face

Everyone is entitled to their opinion as that’s what makes this sport so great Now I am of the opinion each fancier decides how they wish to race youngsters and it could be darkness , natural , separating the sexes or even a form of widowhood , should we then take this a stage further and fanciers who work should be in a separate section, should people who can afford top stock be in another section , people who train youngsters should they be in another section ? The list is endless and ultimately it’s a decision for each fancier Oh and another thought fanciers who use antibiotics do they go in another section Why don’t we just concentrate of getting our birds healthy and working to help make our sport survive just a thought

Colin just found out that I also topped South Lanarkshire on Saturday as well so well pleased at how they performed it’s going to be hard for me to better that lol
